the board is made out 3 layers 1/8 birch marine grade ply, and has been pressed into the skate skim form to create a rocker front and back.

These boards are designed and handcrafted out of Victoria!

Turkey Vulture board?

Lately the Turkey vulture has been one of the animals I've been interested in.... Just interested in the feeling it brings across, not the prettiest bird thats for sure. A naked, wrinkled head is not the most welcoming face and is one of the reasons the vulture is not really liked. There is a certain mystique that I want to be able to capture in that empty glare the vulture has. Sketches and sculpture concepts resulted out of my sketchbook and has led me to thinking if the vulture deserves a graphic on one of the boards..

Time weary wolf - Skate Skimboard shoot

The time weary wolf is one of my personal favorite skims,
It has lots of rocker front and back and has a multidirectional 'pill' shape outline.
The story behind the graphics is inspired from the wolf itself and what their character portrays to me. The wolfs persona combined with the concept of time is an intriguing concept. Even though wolves hunt in packs, each wolf has their own personality that grows and changes over time. pieces from 'the persistence of memory' painting by Dali are combined into the graphic to create a surreal environment for the wolf as it howls throughout the dark blue sky. Every wolfs howl is unique, and makes them recognizable from the pack. Looking at from the 'animalistic human' side of things; don't be afraid to howl out and show your personality.

Skimmarks Philosophy

A love for Nature is needed for us to appreciate our own lives. We as humans are very self-centered and do not realize how much other beings are affected by our behavior. Thinking we are the smartest beings is what makes us dumb. So much has been destroyed, constant thoughts of expansion and addition must now be thoughts of the past as we move into a stage where we must think of every step we take... as it should have been long before. Throughout my work these animalistic human characteristics will be revealed throughout animal traits and habits...

October Skim/Surf Session at China Beach with Steph!

Skimboarding in October... ?

You better believe it!

It was a beautiful October day to have off work, so we decided to

make the most of it!

We trecked down to China beach with surfboards, Skimboards, books and refueling agents.

I realized this is what I've been missing the past few weeks, that forest scent combined with sounds of the tumbling waves... it was going to be a good day. With the sun gleaming through the slender giants we made our way down to the beach, and set up camp for the day.

Soo much noise yet so much silence...
